Welcome to

The Civil War Library and Museum

The Civil War Library and Museum was created more than 100 years ago to preserve the history of that great conflict and to promote public education. Founded in 1888 by veteran Union Army, Navy and Marine Corps officers, it is the oldest chartered Civil War institution in America.
