- Bibliography of
my Fiction and Non-Fiction publications, and a listing of articles written
about me. This page also has links to reprints of some of my (copyrighted)
fiction and non-fiction publication
- Big Eye has a lot of good resources,
news, phone numbers, weather, etc.)
- Biography
(okay, I run off at the 'mouth' a bit - but a writer has to have an ego)
- A Crisette.
This is a frustrating little incident that happened to me a about ten years ago
-- one of those "look at the ceiling and cry 'why me?'" type of
things. But I learned to look beyond the immediate and to be grateful for what
actually happened. It's a lesson I apply very often (I'm a "glass is
half-full" kinda guy, but occasionally I need reminding).
- Disability Magazine
Article Publications. Reprints of two articles written for/and reprinted
in four magazines on my sailplane piloting lessons (in the plane pictured on my
home page) -- with a link to the other photographs which were in one article.
- Disability-related
Fiction Publications Reprints as a sample of one of my books People
First! (Lincoln, NE, 2004) (ALSO SEE MY
Bibliography FOR
2 OF MY BOOKS WITH SUCH WORK)
- Disability-related
Newspaper Publications. Reprints of editorial commentaries, letters, and
an essay I've had published on disability issues posted with editors'
permission.

Disability Resources.
sites (or
corrections added) last added March 9, 2010. Thousands of disability-related
web sites - either indirect or directly alphabetized, categorized, described,
and linked disability websites. If you need information on ANY disability,
start by looking here. Note: I have split this into several pages due to the
number of sites listed, but this main page, with a linked menu, is a big one
and will take a little longer to load.
- Keeping Mentally
Fit What if I was just diagnosed with a disability? What if I am getting
oh-so-frustrated by dealing with my disability? These are huge questions, which
are best dealt with incrementally. I intend to add to this page as I have
time, but hopefully you can find some answers and strategies here.
- Keeping
Physically Fit to improve your health and your state of mind. Two original
articles on the benefits of standing frames and wheelchairs, and working the
upper body. These will be part of a coming book, and I welcome feedback from
people using different systems than I use.
- M.S. Resources
also listed here as this is my disability (also on my "Internet Disability
Resources" pages above.
- Medical Records
- This is only
my story, not everyone with M.S., and I include it just to show what is
possible despite what some would call extensive disabilities.
- My Nebula "rant"
-- or "Why I refuse to make Nebula Award nominations".
- Here are a few of my
Poems inspired by
M.S. or some relationships.
- For searching: Here are some excellent sites. First:
Chester County Library's Search page (NEW
URL 7-11-08). In terms of individual search engines, I personally I like
Hotbot a lot because you can input an
exact phrase without a cumbersome boolean search. Also good is
Ask.com NEW: NOTE: For a REALLY
wide list of search engines and different index sites go to
Roving Reporter's Search
Engines Page at http://www.concentric.net/~tlshell/web.html and
if you click on "categories" you will see how comprehensive this site
is.
- Science Fiction Web
sites; sites to satisfy any rabid fan. As a professional science fiction
writer, I'd be remiss if I didn't have this.
- Sexuality and
Disabilities. An oxymoron? If you think so, you need to read this section
with chapters for men, women, and couples. Also deals with the sensitive issue
of bladder incontinence - based on interviews with a doctor who is the director
of an incontinence center and co-author of a book on the topic.
- Social Security
Disability
- Sports and
Recreation. From dancing to sailing and flying, all manner of ways to keep
active.
- Technology for
disABILITIES
- 3-D Collision Centers
is included here for one reason. The West Chester, Pennsylvania center has
repaired my handicap-converted van four times (3 different vans over a ten year
period) and in each case, as I am stuck without my van, they have transported me
home and returned the vehicle to me after repairs, and even more amazing, on two
occasions they have repaired my wheelchair by welding broken pieces (while I
waited) - sparing me the extra expense and delay of having to order parts and
wait for service stuck at home while waiting. They are fabulous and my car
always comes back like new!
- Van picture My
new - well, it was in 2000 - adapted van that keeps me working (I drive from my
wheelchair which locks into the driver's position), Note 2007: my accessble
employer of 27 years closed and I had to go on S.S.D. as I could not find
another accessible night job.
