Like all good Varantos the 3118 came with A controlling wire (3014/4) for driving around without the track. Just like the Varianto Lasto 3112U this station wagon has a metal connector on the roof to recharge the batteries. These contacts were used by several accessorys including the 3055 Gas Station to recharge the batteries.       Having beautiful grillwork this 3118, from my collection, is in the seldem seen blue, most are red (Click on the top pic above to see A red example). These were among the last of the real Schuco's. All I have seen are marked "Made in Western Germany" and I beleave thay were made in the early to mid 60's. I do not think any were made in the 70's.         This Varianto, like the other Elektro's is battery powered. The batterys, (2 AA), are inserted through the rear door, and with the rear door closed and locked your ready to go.         The bottom of the 3118 showing "Made in Western Germany" and its control wheel.
