The Piccolos, at 1/90 scale, are the smallest Schucos. I never
really collected the smaller autos and I guess it was about time I obtained A piccolo, being that thay are Schucos. I only question my choice in piccolos, no doubt
a sudden flashback during my selection. The model pictured, (from my collection) is the 1954 Cadillac,
A limited edition with a special paint job.
If the piccolos are nothing else thay are heavy. Thay are one solid piece of metal. Weighing in at 80 grams (I weighed it myself), almost 3 ounces, this Caddy is 2 3/8 by 13/16 inches. One solid piece of painted metal, the only trim pieces are the wheels and the axels, everything else is painted on, the windows, the chrome, the lights, everything. The rear lights are painted silver although thay use red on the hearts, red would have been a much better choice. I do not like painted windows and I guess I like seperate pieces for the trim. One piccolo should be enough for me. There inexspensive and if you like the smaller autos thay should make for A heavy collection. There are many piccolo collectors, and with there numbers rapidly increasing some of the older piccolos are climbing in value. I purchased this Piccolo new, on 10/27/01 for $11.00. |
