Synchromatic 5700

5700 Synchromatic and Box

The Synchromatic 5700 was one of Schuco's first models which depicted an actual car. Remote steering was by way of Schuco's wired steering wheel used on many of its models. The wire was inserted in the hole in the hood (bonnet). The "Start" switch is located on the rear just above the bumper.

A beautiful toy which featured the new recharable batteries. As you can see on the box above the 5506 gas pump, hooked up to A 5980 trafe (4.5 volt transformer), could be used to "Refuel" the 5700 (recharge the batteries). Both the 5506 Gas Pump and the 5980 Trafe were available separately. Click on the gas pump to the right for A view of A BV-ARAL 5506 gas pump and box.

Being made during the toy industrys transition to plastic the 5700 had some plastic parts such as the rear fins and the steering wheel. Some say Schucos late entry into plastics may have added to its demise. But Schucos mastery was clearly in stronger materals, just look at the 5700's beautifully lithoed seats in these two pics.
