"Organist-musician" in the image of his model André Marchal,
Georges Delvallée has a depth of enthusiasm for his art,
beyond being a great professional musician.
Professor of piano at the Paris Conservatory, he is also a regular
collaborator with the Orchestre National de France.
Though he would prefer not to be labelled "a Tournemire specialist",
he has done much over the years on behalf of bringing to light the works
of this underrated master.
The various volumes in his discography (see below) are evidence of
his achievement in this regard.
His complete recording of Tournemire's l'Orgue mystique
(whose third installment, le Cycle après la Pentecôte
has just appeared) is a noteworthy landmark of recording,
filling a most essential need.
Delvallée is also responsible for an excellent and
thoroughly researched collection of the complete piano works of
Louis Vierne, on 2 CDs.
It was regarding this, that we went to him to learn his impressions
as an interpreter of the composer whom we regard so dearly.
