Well, she's been back a few days, and she's finally talking about it a little. I'm pretty sure she doesn't want to appear like she's showing off, so she's just taking a "ho-hum" attitude towards it.
She was talking about seeing the throne that all the monarch's sat in when they were crowned, touching the crypt of Edward the Confessor, and joking with their guide. She had a ball and I'll be getting more out of her in the next few days.
They took lots of photos, all I have to do now is get them scanned onto disk so I can share them with you. Looking for a place to do that.
When she arrived her room wasn't ready, so they walked down to the Victoria & Albert Museum while they were waiting. After traveling so long, they were pretty tired, so they went back to their room, and had dinner in the room.
This was the day they took their tour of London. The first stop was St Pauls Cathederal. Then Westminster Abbey. She saw Queen Elizabeth the First's tomb, Poet's corner, and the tombs of the past Kings and Queens of England. Next up was the tour of Old London. She got to see Trafalgar Square, Picadilly Circus, Big Ben, the Parliament buildings, Hyde Park and St. James' Park. Drove by Buckingham Palace (it was mobbed) Next was the Boat tour on the Thames where they had a wonderful lunch. Then on to the Tower of London (which is actually 21 towers). She saw the Crown Jewels, Traitors Gate (where they brought in all the Royals before they chopped off their head and hung them on the Tower Bridge), Bloody Tower (where they kept the Royals before execution) and the Ravens (which the guide said were the real guards of the tower. For as long as the ravens are there, England stands) Then they drove by the Hospital where Florence Nightengale started her nursing career, and Shakespere's Globe Theatre. Then back to the hotel for a hot shower and exhaustion.
