EC's going to London

as seen through Ed's eyes

EC will be going to London England in August for 7 days and 6 nights. Her sister Gay is going with her. This is her chance of a life time to see a bit of Europe. Bloody wonderful if you ask me. We'll tell you all about it when she get's back. She's decided that it would be a waste of money if she didn't go, the trip is practically free, and as thrifty (cheap) as she is she just has to go. With any luck, I'll have figured out how to put photos on here by then.

Well the first glitch came up. Her passport application came back because her birth certificate didn't have a registration date on it. The problem is that back then, in the hills of Kentucky, most of the midwives that delivered babies couldn't read or write, so not many were registered properly. She'll be calling the County Clerk of Pikeville Kentucky on monday to see if she can clear it up. Her sister's also came back the same way, so they'll be working together on it to get it fixed. Isn't the government wonderful?

She got her birth certificate back. The midwife that delivered her, spelled her first name wrong. Now she's determined to go to Europe, come hell or high water. (We've had a lot of flash flooding lately)

July 23rd, She's finally realized that she's really going. She got her ticket's today, and got her pasport last weekend. Now she's just worrying about little things, like will she be able to buy film for the Polaroid Camera there, what about Tylenol? I guess she's so excited she forgets she's not leaving civilization behind. More later

August 7th, EC and Gay are sitting in the kitchen planning where they are going to eat. They are going to call ahead for reservations, so they have to have the whole thing planned. I'm pretty sure that when they get there, all of the plans will be changed, but they're enjoying the planning. Who knows, they might even follow their plans, just because they spent all that time planning!

August 8th, EC finally admitted that she really wants to go. It's so close that she realizes it's going to happen. Only 1 more week

August 11th, No mention of the trip today at all, I think she's getting nervous.

August 14th, Well tomorrow is the big day, and she woke up sick this morning. Gay and I both think it's her nervousness, but she denies it. She's packed, and ready to go, though several times today she said that she'll just stay home. I told her that if she really wants to miss out on a chance of a lifetime, then she can, then she rethinks it and says she's going. (Of course she's going)

August 16th, She got there, called me at 5:30 this morning. She's sure she's not going to like it because she's going to get lost. I think the realization has begun to set in.

August 22nd, She get's home tonight. I'm pretty sure she'll have lots to say about the trip. The rest of the story will be on a new page, the trip itself.
