Programmer/Analyst

Healthnetwork America is a medical insurance company. I wrote new programs using the Unidata flavor of PICK running on the UNIX operating system. I used a program called VISION which is a front end screen development program. I worked closely with the medical staff to give them the resources they needed on a timely basis.

Sunbelt is a solutions provider to College bookstores. We write a complete accounting package as well as cash registers and forecasting software. I maintain, update and write new programs as needed using the Universe flavor of PICK running on UNIX operating systems.

I write reports, processing programs, menus and entry screens for Market Research using SYSTEM BUILDER (SB+) and Pick on a Unidata based Unix system and with Microsoft Access. I did some work on the Prime computer using HENCO.

Senior Programmer/Analyst

I primarily wrote a Sales & Marketing Campaign Program in SYSTEM BUILDER (SB+) on a DEC Alpha computer running UNIX. I also extensively modified the Order Entry Module to deal with the complexities of the pricing offered in the Campaign Programs. Wrote a series of data conversion programs to move data from a customers legacy system into our System Builder Package.

Director, Information Services

I was responsible for all aspects of the company's computer systems. This includes several networks using two different types of network protocol, four McDonnell Douglas Computers (1 Series 18 and 3 M6000's), their electrical power (2 UPS Systems), approximately 250 workstations and printers and company's NEC telephone system. I interviewed, hired and trained 3 assistants in PICK and was responsible for their efforts. Coordinated programming of 4 outside consulting firms and the company's electrician. Integrated EDI to the system and personally wrote part of the system.. Wrote programs to automatically transfer data from Georgia location to the New Jersey location and vice-versa. Introduced my ELECTRONIC MAIL system to the company. Wrote programs using TERMITE to interface graphics from the PC into software running on the PICK System. I purchased all PC's and PC programs and interface them to the PICK computers. I worked closely with the Accounting and Sales Departments to insure they have all the information that they need. Arranged or conducted all training, both PC and Mini. Selected and interfaced on line shipment processing package to the Accounting system. Added software to move data between Minis and PC's. Started a RESEARCH Section that consisted of MULTI-MEDIA systems and software to aid the Product Development Group. I did all of the company's graphics until a Graphics Department was hired. I reported directly to the Vice-President of Finance.

Programmed in PICK on a McDONNELL DOUGLAS 9240. Was responsible for the purchase of all computer supplies, hardware and software. Wrote an ELECTRONIC MAIL system for interbranch use. Completely reworked company's PHYSICAL INVENTORY SYSTEM and wrote the software package to implement it. I designed most of the company's forms. Upgraded company from Microdata Reality system, designed forms for upgrade, and trained personnel in its use as well as word processing and spreadsheets. Installed and maintained terminals and printers. I reported directly to the companies Controller.

Computer Programmer

Programmed in PICK and Prime INFORMATION Basic working on a PRIME 9950, DATAMEDIA 932, and AT&T 6300 using the PICK Operating System. Wrote Point of Sale Package and did many modifications and upgrades to existing Inventory and Accounts Receivable Packages. Did some site installations and wiring as well as customer support. Did terminal and printer configuration. Worked with communication equipment. Was responsible for backups and tape transfers.

Computer Programmer

Programmed primarily in FORTRAN 66. Worked on a PRIME 850 and a TRS-80 Model 16 using the XENIX Operating System (a UNIX System). Did a limited amount of programming in "C".


LOUIS NEIBAUER CO. Warminster, PA 1983-1984

Programming Consultant

Worked on a SEATTLE Computer using MS-DOS, CPM and CPM-86. Installed several 'PACKAGED' programs, did some modifications and trained operators in its use. Did all research in to several packages before recommending their current system.


I worked in several fields, unrelated to computers, from my discharge from the military and entering school for computer training

Acquired 910 hours of instruction in the following:
BASIC, COBOL, FORTRAN, RPG II, PASCAL SYSTEM ANALYSIS and DESIGN.

Taught myself BASIC and have been using it in several forms since 1977.

Attended an Industrial Bar Coding course provided by Clemson University's Clemson College of Commerce and Industry on July 29th,1993.

Attended a course in Microsoft Access 7.0 Programming Fundamentals on March 10th, 1997

Recently I've been teaching myself Web Publishing using HMTL 3.2 to be used on the INTERNET.

Attended a course at Bucks County Community College on Indroduction to Unix in September 1997.
