When we last visited Gunter Sphincter, he was prostrating himself to the project team for becoming the critical constraint to the Project to Blow Up the Moon!
All work has halted until this key piece of instrumentation is obtained. Formulation of the explosive package can not continue until the Syntron® instrument is installed and procedures developed. The halt in project efforts has left the Project Manager, Dr. Enrique Castillo-Duro, in a state of mental anorexia.
Castillo-Duro has vowed to apply drastic measures to this situation to correct it and has contacted Dr. Karl Heimleich of Buenos Aries for consultation. Heimleich is renowned for his research and experimentation in motivational techniques and computer communications. Recall, Heimleich's early work in characterizing nerve pressure points in the human skull and throat were cut short by the unfounded rumors circulating connecting Heimleich with Nazi underground elements based in South America. However, the rumors of Heimleich's long association with the notorious test pilot Baron von Siegfried have been confirmed but they only see each other socially.
Often described as "a genetic mutation gone awry" Heimleich's phenomenal mental capacity due to his tri-lobed brain and highly developed corpus callosum more than over compensates for his physical limitations. Heimleich discounts all connections with the so-called "Boys of Brazil" stating that his physical mutations were simply due to his mother's over exposure to solar radiation on Rio beaches while Heimleich was still in vitro (Heimleich is also renowned for developing the SPF rating scale now required for sun screen ointments).
Castillo-Duro's warm welcome of Heimleich to the project team was heralded as a break through in Project Management techniques. Castillo-Duro's ability to break out of paradigms and apply non-traditional Project Management techniques, (like the application of Heimleich's special skills to Sphincter's lack luster performance on the Syntron® task) bring new dimensions to the B.U.M. project. "The Heimleich/Sphincter Team will obtain the Syntron® device, implement it and QC it ahead of schedule and under budget!!!" Castillo-Duro emphatically stated. Unconfirmed rumors of project team members already contacting Iranian elements to obtain the Syntron® unit recently smuggled across the Turkish border - coupled with a recent purchase order for certain unique surgical instruments, indicate Castillo-Duro's level of resolve to have this task completed in a timely manner.
