Philly Ferrets New Beginnings Page

Welcome to our New Beginnings page. On this page we have stories and pictures of the ferrets we placed into new families. Most ferrets are turned into the shelter because the families don't want them anymore or can't take care of them. Sadly there are ferrets out there who do suffer hardships-emotional and physical. It's not someone wants to think about but it's true. It's always a great moment in our shelter when we place a ferret with just the right family, it's all the more special when are able to place the ferrets who have seen the not so nice side of life into a home where they will loved and cared for the rest of their lives.

Mocha & Scout

Mocha and Scout arrived at the shelter in July 6, 1997. The arrived with their sister Sula who passed away in September. Mocha would roll over for Cheerios. I loved watching him do this. He even went to a show and rolled over for everyone in our section. Scout was a real cuddly guy. Mocha and Scout were adopted to Dan and Sarah  of Philadelphia on November 11, 1997.
Dan and Sarah say that Mocha is the darling of the household and is truly the master of cute!
Scout has also earned his claim to fame is jumping on their cat Patches and hitching a ride!

Powder

Powder arrived at our shelter in the winter of 1998. Powder was a transfer from another shelter and under went bite rehabilition. Powder quickly began to improve. Most likely her nipping was from a lack of being handled. She enjoyed running around with the other ferrets at the shelter and could handle the rough and tumble boys. Powder was adopted on March 4, 1998 to Rob & Jolie of Philadelphia. Powder shares her home with her new brothers Garrett & Casey and two cats. Powder enjoys running around the loft and chasing her brothers.

Sage

Sage arrived at Philly Ferrets in March of 1998. Sage came as a transfer from Morris Animal Rescue. Sage was not here long. She is a beautiful cinnamon ferret possibly from a privite breeder.
We had two famlies interested in adopting her. Sage was adopted on April 5, 1998 by Lynn of Atco NJ. Sage shares her new home with brother Nicholas. Sage and Nicholas became friends very quickly and slept together almost right from the start.
