Let me tell you about the 2 one half gallons of milk story. When I was a lot younger than I am now like nine or ten years old or so Mom always would send me to the store for odds and ends. One time she wrote a list of a loaf of bread and two one-half gallons of milk. The only problem is that she wrote it as 2 1/2 gal. milk. I read that as two and one half gallons and not two one half gallons. You get the idea. That meant 5 containers instead of 2. Even the lady at the check put register questioned me to be sure I knew what I wanted. I was sure. I think I had to set it down every ten steps I took or at least it seems like that. when I got home tired sweaty and mad, to say the least, I told her of the problem. Lucky for me there were other adult females there who agreed with me that here note looked like she wanted a total of 2 1/2 gallons. She knew what she meant. Is it any wonder I am the way I am today?
