Christmas Vacation is a Nowak Tradition, to watch that is. We use artificial trees (no squirrels required), in the days long gone, we would spend the holidays at my folks house.
Although we had one year where the turkey fell off the bones trying to get it out of the roast pan. It seems that the lady of the house (me) is obsessive about cleaning and accidentally scrubbed the numbers off the oven dial, so it was a guessing game how hot the oven was...And unknown to me, Mike tried to be helpful, and turned the knob up a little. Thank Heavens it was a butterball or it would have looked like the turkey from Christmas Vacation.
In the last neighborhood we lived in we had a neighbor who we called Griswold. When he turned on his outside Christmas lights, it lit up out living room and master bedroom, and we were two houses away. He even decorated around his pool with Christmas lights.
