Kokikai-Ryu Aikido International
Kokikai-Ryu Aikido International is an international organization with schools in the U.S., Japan, Australia and Israel. The schools provide a place to learn and practice Kokikai Ryu (Kokikai Style) Aikido.
The founder of Aikido Kokikai is Shuji Maruyama, who studied with Morohei Ueshiba, the founder of Aikido.
Maruyama came to America to teach Aikido over 30 years ago, and stayed for almost 20 years before returning to Japan. His mission to bring Aikido Kokikai to America was successful, and there are now Aikido Kokikai dojos (schools) in every region of the country, with thousands of students and practitioners.
Maruyama Sensei returns several times each year to teach at regularly scheduled seminars and to conduct promotion testing. Students from all over America and the world come to these seminars to learn and to practice together.
