High Templar / Dark Templar:

The High Templar (units standing around upper, blue glowing entity) are seasoned, veteran warriors of the Protoss armies. The Citadel of Adun and the Templar Archives are necessary to warp these beings in [shown at left].
The Templar are highly trained in their psionic abilities, and can be a powerful unit indeed! The following are examples:

Psionic Storm - possibly their greatest ability in battle, depending on where the storm is released, it is capable of reducing armies to rubble. Be sure to get the Amulet of Khaydarin upgrade that extends the energy level to +50.

Hallucination - a phantasm of no physical substance can be created to draw away fire, or confuse enemy units.

Summon Archon - DEFINITELY the greatest ability of the High Templar! Two can merge to form the powerful, blue, glowing entity - the ARCHON.

New in BROOD WAR:
The Dark Templar are warriors who were banished from Aiur for refusing to submit to the Khala. They are able to bend light around themselves which renders them virtually invisible, or permanently cloaked. They have modified, sickle-like psionic blades which makes them extremely effective in battle!

The Dark Templar are generally footsoldiers, as they can only attack land units. Similar to the High Templar, the Dark Templar can also merge to form a powerful, RED, glowing entity [see screenshot] - the DARK ARCHON. You can read more about this incredible unit HERE.
