My life
I'm in my mid-20s and live in the Philadelphia area... I like art and music and roller blading and coffee and going out. And if I can combine all of those things, well, hey, wouldn't I be lucky? Lately I have decided to become a more well-rounded person. So I am attempting to learn to snowboard and do various other things. I would like to learn to play drums eventually. I was learning, but that didn't work out since my friend who was teaching me decided he never wants to speak to me again. Oh well. his loss.
I also like traveling. It seems all my friends are moving away to cool places like Spain and Egypt and Oregon and Miami and so on. Someday I would like to take a few months to travel around the world - taking pictures and painting places I visit and recording my interesting haps in a little journal. I would especially like to check out Poland and Eastern Europe someday, but my fave place to visit outside the USA is Spain. You can see some of the cool things I did while I was there on this page.

I love drinking cafe latte with cool syrups like English Toffee, Chocolate Biscotti and regular old vanilla... also I really like Chai. The Gryphon Cafe & their offshoot shop, the Station, (both in Wayne PA) make really great green tea chai. Don't even talk to me about Starbucks. My favorite places to drink coffee in Philadelphia are La Tazza, South Caffe, Last Drop Coffeehouse, and Quarry St. Cafe (in that order). The Griffin and Crimson Moon are ok, too.

My Art
I paint and do multimedia artworks (meaning both computer graphic and other stuff like found objects, collage, so on... if there is some material out there that catches my eye, I might just put it to use.) - you can link to my artworks here. Some of the newer things I have been working on have included game pieces, plastic army guys, wire, silk flowers, and whatever I can trashpick or find at the Salvation Army that works. sorry, no scans yet.

I designed the original Juliet's Wishing Well site, sadly they are parting ways as of the end of April 1999. I'm working on a page for Caribou Union. My fun project is a local music site, www.groovelingo.com. I also work full time at a publication and maintain and expand www.lapidaryjournal.com and did the site design for www.tucsonshowguide.com.

Other stuff:
Whenever I have time I help Tim Allen maintain the wonderful Philly music homepage, which you should certainly check out! You can read my column here! - it often has interesting things listed.
My Groovelingo pages have been chosen to be the official Philly scene pages for Tourdates.com a great web resource that links you to all the show schedules of your favorite bands! they are also linked into MTV local section, this sort of just happened one day...
MartNet is the ISP that hosts my Groove Lingo web pages, and they just happen to offer one of the best values for internet services (dial-up, web hosting, web design, et cetera) in the Philadelphia area as well as new local dial-up numbers that range from Southeastern PA & Suburbs to New Jersey and Delaware... they offer great service and are really nice people to hang out with, as well! (If you are a local band/musician, they have a special low-rate web/e-mail/internet access package for you)

I will soon be adding an interesting links page... I had some favorite fun links here, but I think most are outdated by now. When I get some new ones, I'll put them up.

The summer of '97 I ventured on a monster road trip with my brother. We visited Americana Galore. Even rode on Rt. 66 and went to visit Christ of the Ozarks (I'm not religious, but something about a 50+ foot tall concrete statue of Jesus fascinates me). It was cool. I have an odd love of cheesy landmarks and roadside attractions, decaying Americana, bad billboards and post-pop culture. (E-mail me about this and I'll refer a couple of great books to you. Or you can wait until I get around to mentioning them online.) Someday I will post some details of this epic adventure and all of the interesting people we met (like Aniel the Angel from New Orleans) and places we went over a 10day roadtrip.
